Information for the week of 9/9

Saturday, September 7, 2019
Hello! Some information for the upcoming week...

  • The Ultra Fun Run will be on Tuesday, 9/10 from 8:30-9:15 for first grade. (Since this is during our normal library time, we will most likely not get to visit the library this week. If we do, I will post an update on Class Dojo and on this website, so that students can return books.)
  • Book orders are due on Friday if you would like to order any books for your child. They were sent home in their homework folders.
  • Since school was canceled on Thursday and Friday of last week, students were unable to take their first spelling test. Instead, they will take it on Monday. Sight word testing will be given either on Monday or Tuesday, depending on when time permits.

Class Dojo and Friday Flag tomorrow

Thursday, August 29, 2019
Hello!
I have switched over to Class Dojo instead of Aeries Communication. Some people were having issues not receiving messages, and I want to make sure that everyone is getting all notifications and messages. If you have not received the e-mail invite a few days ago, please let me know and I will re-send.
Also, tomorrow we have Friday Flag, so students should meet me at their blacktop line. :)
Monday, August 19, 2019
Hello!
Aeries Communication should be working for everyone now. You will not be able to respond to a class announcement, but you will be able to send me a direct message, and we can "text" through that route. Let me know your thoughts on this. :)
On another note, all students need headphones brought to class this week, as we are starting iRead. :)

  • If you have not sent in headphones yet for your child, please send them in this week, as we will be starting computer lab.
  • NO Friday Flag this week. Students should come to the classroom as usual.

Welcome to the 2019-2020 School Year!

Tuesday, August 13, 2019
Welcome to the new school year! I am so excited to have your child in my class! School starts on Wednesday, August 14. Please subscribe for e-mails if you would like to be notified when new updates are posted on this blog.
I recommend that students have their snacks and lunches packed separately, as I have separate bins for them in the classroom. This will help save time and confusion as to which items are for lunch and which are for their snack. (If they only bring one or the other, it will not be an issue.) Back to School Night is on Thursday, from 5:00-6:00 PM. The book fair will be open during that time as well. I am looking forward to meeting you all!
