Hello families!
I hope you are all doing well. I miss seeing your child's smiling face each day and am looking forward to getting back to our regular routine at school once the school closure is lifted. Until then, I see that many students have started iRead, iReady and Imagine Learning online. I can see the progress they are making each day! I am also hearing from parents that students are reading and writing. I am so proud of them!
Next week is spring break, although you are welcome to continue what you are currently doing.
The week of April 6 begins the official launch of distance learning, where we will provide links to the curriculum and instructions on how to navigate. I am here for you every step of the way, as this is new for all of us and it can be overwhelming. The first grade teachers are going to roll out a landing page where you will have everything planned out day by day with links. I will check in with you via Class Dojo each day in a class message. As always, please let me know what I can do to help.

Valentine's Day

Our class Valentine's Day party is on Thursday 2/13, since we do not have school on Friday. A flyer went home a couple of weeks ago with information regarding class information, but I wanted to list it here as well. Students were asked to make a box for their valentines. If they do not have a box, they can bring in a decorated bag instead. We have 23 students in our class. I find that it is much easier and quicker for students to not list student names on their valentines (just put "from" and their name). I ask that if your student participates in passing out valentines, that they give one to each student in the class, to avoid hurt feelings. Candy is not allowed, but trinkets such as pencils or stickers are fine. We will be doing some fun craft rotations and having some treats as well. It will be a fun day for all! As a reminder- no school on Friday, 2/14 or Monday, 2/17.
100th Day of School!

Tuesday is the 100th day of school, and Tovashal staff is dressing up like 100 year olds! We are inviting all students to dress up, too! A flyer went home last week with some ideas on how you can create a costume. It will be a fun day for the kids!
